Lyric coloratura soprano Adrienne Kling has been praised for her “fine soprano voice” and her “distinctive and memorable timbre” (Cleveland Classical). A native of Cleveland, OH, she holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and is a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Ken Shaw.


Ms. Kling made her operatic debut as the  Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute and has since performed numerous roles including Esmerelda in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, Servilia in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito and Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide.


Equally at home in concert and recital repertoire Ms. Kling has appeared in Haydn’s The Creation (Eve) and Orff’s Carmina Burana, as well as Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music. An avid performer of 20th and 21st century works, she has collaborated with North American New Opera Works, Fringe Logic for their Cincinnati performance of Terry Riley’s In C and composer Douglas Pew in the Cincinnati premiere of his opera A Game of Hearts.


Competition credits include an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (Four City District), the Kentucky Bach Choir’s Audrey Rooney Vocal Competition (Finalist) and The Opera Guild of Dayton’s Tri-State Vocal Competition (Finalist).


Recent engagements include performances with NANOWorks Opera in the Cincinnati Fringe Festival as well as performing in the ensembles of La bohème and Simon Boccanegra with Kentucky Opera. Ms. Kling also returned to musical theater as Rapunzel in Into the Woods with Cincinnati Landmark Productions.

 

Recent performances include Gretel with Roundabout Opera for Kids: Cincinnati in their touring performances of Hansel and Gretel as well as a soloist with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra for their Broadway Sing-Along as the winner of Cincy Sings. 

 

Ms. Kling is a member of the Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the United States Air Force.
